How to balance our foods


A fitness lifestyle doesn't only mean being active. I've come to realize that our meals and the foods we nourish our bodies with have the same importance.


But I believe that having a healthy relationship with food is the first step.


It's important to remember that our bodies need food to function so we should never feel bad or regret what eat.


Nevertheless, we can always choose to eat foods that nourish our bodies.


In my opinion, it's a way of showing love to ourselves.


 

Cheat meals

I personally don't believe in cheat meals.


The idea of having a cheat meal has never worked for me. It's only made my relationship with food more complicated.


I didn't like the idea of restricting myself something I wanted, and having to wait for a certain moment to have it.


So I personally don't recommend cheat meals.

Obviously, we should all do what works best for us!


Cheat meals didn't work for me. So I think it's important I share my experience.


Once I was able to change my mindset, I began to eat foods that nourished my body but at the same time avoided restricting myself whenever I was craving a certain food.


That's when my relationship changed in a positive way with food.


I believe that when our brain doesn't feel restricted it doesn't feel the need to want something as bad.


That could just be my idea but it's worked for me!!



 

80/20

What has worked best for me is following the 80/20 diet.


It means that 80% of the time we eat in a nutritious manner and the other 20% we can eat our favorite treats.


The way I follow this rule is, during the week I only eat foods that will help me accomplish my fitness goals. And on the weekends I eat what ever I desire.


That doesn't mean it has to be unhealthy. I just don't put so much pressure on myself with the foods I eat on the weekends.


Which usually means I eat the sweets I love!!


This lifestyle has worked best for me, it fits perfect with my schedule. During the week I focus on my fitness goals and on the weekends I choose to enjoy my free time.



 

It's important that we all do what's best for us!


We all have different goals and different lifestyles.


So it's important to keep that in mind and not compare our live's with others. ;)
