EAT MORE PROTEIN



Being submersed in a healthy lifestyle had me always questioning what I could modify or change to obtain my fitness goals.


I felt like I won the lottery when I understood the importance of eating the right amount of protein.


It will vary depending on each persons fitness goal, but to build muscle (which is my goal) there needs to be a good amount of protein in the body's system.


First I would recommend each person to investigate how much protein their body requires. This will be based off the amount of exercise each person does and the way their metabolism functions.




 

Benefits



Eating more protein allows for the body to lower the hunger hormones and boost satiety hormones. This allows us to feel satisfied for a longer period of time. Meaning, we will eat less calories.


This is beneficial for people that have an end goal of loosing fat percentage. Also, when the body digests protein it burns a higher amount of calories than digesting carbohydrates, for example.


Protein has a higher TEF (thermic effect of food). TEF is the amount of calories the body burns by breaking down, absorbing and converting food into energy.


Protein helps our bodies build muscle. Which also helps reduce the build up of harmful fats in our body.


 

Exercising is important

It's necessary for each person to research the right amount of protein they need to eat depending on their fitness goals.


What might work for me doesn't necessarily mean it will work for someone else. But, if someone is looking to loose extra fat and gain muscle mass I would recommend increasing their protein intake. I say this based off the facts I mentioned above.


Don't forget, it's not only based on the diet we have, but also on the amount of exercise we're doing.

I've also increased the amount of cardio I do before weight lifting.


Once again, I'm doing this because my goal is to loose extra fat so I can obtain a leaner look with my physique.


I love learning about fitness and nutrition. Understanding how our body works is so interesting to me.
