Enjoying healthy foods

A lot of times people think that to reach their fitness goals they have to give up all foods they enjoy. I used to believe this before starting my fitness journey, and that really demotivated me to even start.
Later on, I came to realize that healthier foods are also enjoyable. And what makes me love them even more, is knowing that I'm fueling my body with cleaner ingredients.
The important part is to remember that everything with moderation is the way to go when it comes to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Make it easy
We have to remember that for something to be sustainable it has to be easy to accomplish. I'm not saying everything should be easy because it's also important to push ourselves and challenge our minds. But one thing I've learned during my fitness journey is that, I want healthy living to be my lifestyle, and for that to happen it can't be too tedious to accomplish. Once I realized this, I decided that me and food are going to work together to help me reach my fitness goals.
That being said, I began looking for new recipes to make that included ingredients that I liked but also benefited my fitness goals. Once I realized that it was possible to enjoy my meals and gain progress physically, I fell in love! It was definitely a game changer during my fitness journey. It's the best of both worlds!
Make it your own
There's so many ways to make food benefit our fitness goals. What works for me might not work for others since our tastebuds are different. Luckily a lot of recipes can be modified to our liking. Also, it's important to consider that we're all on different phases in our fitness journey. It's great to get inspiration from others but I also consider what works best for me.
Lastly I want to add, I've taken food with a grain of salt. Meaning, I do consider it an important factor to reach my fitness goals, but I also consume what my body asks for. If I'm craving something sweet I'll give it to myself! The positive aspect is that I have found many ways to satisfy my sweet tooth and add towards my goals. Which is why it think it's important that each person finds what works best for them. I do think that guidance from nutrition experts helps.
Honestly I just believe life should be as enjoyable as possible. And it is possible to enjoy everything about a healthy lifestyle! ;)
