How to begin our fitness journey:

We might start off asking ourselves: Why should I exercise? Why should I eat in a healthy manner? Why should I take care of my body?


 


I really think that if we're able to find our own answers to those questions, then it'll allow our purpose during this process to be clear. And that'll just make our fitness journey way more satisfying!

 

Health

First, let’s talk about one of the obvious reasons behind a fitness lifestyle. Our health.


I will be honest, this wasn’t my first priority when I began my journey. But today I can say, I’ve learned about how important it is to take care of our health.


After going through a pandemic I think the universe pretty much told us that taking care of our health is a must.


If we don’t do it for ourselves, then who will?



I learned, that it’s never too late to start taking care of our bodies. It took me a while to understand that our body is our home, and we deserve the best care possible.


We've gone through so much during this life, so giving back to ourselves is the least we can do! Our body deserves it.


It’s been a process for me, but taking care of my health, only made the love I have towards myself grow.


So yes, our health should be the first reason to begin our fitness journey.

 

Hobbies

There became a point in my life when I felt like I didn’t have an activity to do for myself. It was hard for me to realize this, and it made me think pretty bad about who I was. I felt like I didn’t have a purpose.


As an older teen going through an identity crisis, it was not easy!


Now I can say, I’ve understood that we all have a purpose just by simply being us.


But, it’s never a bad time to find what fuels our soul, what makes life exciting! I’ve mentioned this a lot, but I genuinely believe, that life is about enjoying it.


Even though it can get tough at times, if we find our passion or what excites us, it can be much more pleasant!


For me, it was fitness. This journey helped me find joy in life again!


Everything that has to do with it: Committing to myself, fighting the urges, being consistent, and obviously the results!



(I definitely like my mirror selfies, lol).


But I have to say, what most excites me now is the fact that I can share the knowledge I've gained with others!


Maybe fitness isn’t everybody’s cup of tea, and that’s totally okay. But we’ll never know what hobbies we truly enjoy if we don’t take the first step to find out...

 

Results

A lot of us start our fitness journey wanting to feel better about ourselves physically.


And I don’t think that’s wrong. It can definitely be a good reason to keep moving forward during this process, that sometimes, can get hard...


But what I've come to realize, is that we can’t only depend on results to be the reason for us to continue our journey.


Only depending on results could make the process quite miserable, in my opinion. Since it takes time to even begin to notice results...


Personally, I think that, once we fall in love with the process, the results come on their own!


I can say, I've had results during my fitness journey. But I'm aware that I still have ways to go!


The progress I’ve had is only getting me closer to where I want to be. And that keeps me motivated to not stop!

To be honest, I've fallen in love with the lifestyle that the results aren't my priority anymore. But they're still important to me of course.


Learning to enjoy the process was a game-changer for me.


But anyway, I believe that it's all about making that first decision. Which is to begin. Any moment is the right moment to start our fitness journey! :)
