Social Media.

The title of this post can speak for itself and have a different impact on everyone.

When I think about fitness I also think about mental health. And I have to say, I've had a long journey with mental health when it comes to social media.

I don't think it will end, just like any other exercise, there needs to be consistency with the methods that I use to have a better relationship with social media.

Taking breaks

Take a break.

It's been one of the best decisions I've made with social media.

We might not even realize anymore how caught up we get with these platforms.

How much time we spend on them, the way we compare our lives or the way we put our value into likes and followers.

It's crazy, the world we have created.

It's kinda' depressing, in my opinion.

The first step is to be aware of the situation. And to ask ourselves if it's something that affects us.

I realized it was affecting me, so I made a decision, deleted the app (instagram).

I will sometimes delete it during the weekend.

But what has worked best for me, is to delete the app off my main page on my phone.

That way I'm not tempted to go on the app. I only go on during the morning and night.

That way I don't waste time during the day, and I can be more productive.

Hopefully one day I'm able to delete it for a long period of time (months).

But remember, in life everything is a process. All we can do is progress. And be proud of ourselves.

Be aware

We have to remember, not everything we see on social media is real!!

It's easy for me to forget that.

The goal of social media is to show off the highlights of our lives, so of course we will less likely show the hard times.

And that's okay, in my opinion, as long as we stay true to ourselves.

Also, we have to remember we all have different paths and goals.

Just because something is "trending" on social media, that doesn't mean we also have to have that.

We have to remember to be true to ourselves and to follow our own dreams. Not what everybody else is doing.

Be different. Be authentic.

We're definitely living in weird times, but we can't forget to enjoy life, and the little things that come with it.

Not everything we do, we have to share with the world.

Sometimes our best moments are ones we don't share.

We can all use social media how ever we want, I just hope I'm able to stay true to myself and honest with the way I feel. ;)
