The mindset behind a fitness lifestyle
Let me warn everyone that once we start our fitness journey our mindset will be the first aspect of our life to change, in a positive way of course. When I started to take fitness seriously I didn't know all the benefits that came with it.

Commitment
Commitment was the first characteristic I gained. Once I finally realized that my body and health are so important, I was able to truly commit to this process.
It wasn't easy though. It's a decision we have to make every day. Especially on those days our inner voice tells us to do the opposite. Whether or not it's about exercising, eating healthy, sleeping on time, etc. Once we're able to gain this characterisitc, the process becomes much easier & enjoyable.

That's when I was able to truly fall in love with this lifestyle because it became a habit. A part of my life.
When I finally committed to my health, I realized it was easier to do so in other areas of my life. That's why I call it a mindset.
Self-Discipline
This characteristic was probably the hardest for me to learn. I will say, changing our habits is not a simple task, but not impossible! There will always be days that we'll feel less motivated than others, but with self-discipline we'll still show up, get the workout done, eat the right foods, go to sleep on time, etc.
One thing I learned though, is to not be so hard on ourselves when we choose to take a rest day or eat the foods we're craving (actually those things are part of a healthy lifestyle).
What I mean to say, is that if we want this to be a part of our lives we have to find ways to enjoy the process. But, it's important that we are capable to get back on track when we need to.
Everyone is different, so we should do what's best for us!
For me, it was to acknowledge my goal and to truly give it the value it has in my life. Once I made that decision their was nothing more important than taking action toward reaching it.

My self-discipline has definitely evolved along with my fitness journey. Now, my goals are a bit more strict and requiere much more discipline. But it takes time, and that's okay!
Love the process
This isn't really a characteristic but it changed the game for my fitness journey and the way I perceive life in general.
I didn't always think it was possible to love exercising, but I realized that it's very important to be happy and love what we do. So why couldn't exercise be fun too? Guess what, it can!
The secret to making exercise "fun" is finding what activities we enjoy and what will give us the results we are looking for.
I can say I've found a few exercises that are perfect for me. It's all about trying different activities to find the right one's for us!
This also helps so we don't obsess over getting results quickly. If we love the process then the results are only a plus. With consistency there will definitely be results!
If we're able to enjoy this lifestyle than it'll just become a part of our daily routine. It's all about finding joy in what we do. :)
